We’re excited to announce that Significan’t’s Director, Jeff McWhinney, will be heading to New Zealand and Australia as part of the Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship Awards in November 2008.

Jeff will be working in a consultancy role with organisations to develop video interpreting services for their local Deaf communities.

One specific element of research Jeff will be undertaking will be whether our Australian/Kiwi call centre colleagues may be able to provide interpreting services during the British night time, therefore making our service available 24 hours per day Monday to Friday. We would then be able to interpret for both the Australian and New Zealand Deaf communities in return. Taking advantage of the time difference could create a mutually beneficial way of working for video interpreting services for both the UK and Australia/NZ Deaf communities.
